Self Identity
(2019)
Medium:
Oil paint on wood panel.
Dimensions:
43" × 37"
Description
Although the subject of this painting was my sister, the piece was created during a time I was trying to understand my own identity. At seventeen, identity felt fragile, shifting, and sometimes contradictory. The painting reflects that tension; between who I thought I was supposed to be and who I was becoming, and the search for clarity. It captures a moment where observing someone close to me became a way of seeing myself more honestly.
